In this speech, the Prime Minister discussed the future of his country in the field of oil and gas exploitation which is expected to open a “new era” for Senegal.
“It is with the same concern to look to the future that I come to the new era which opens before us, that of the production of oil and gas in our country”, declared Mr. Amadou Ba.
The senior Senegalese official continued: “This is a huge opportunity for our economy, our private sector, our companies and our workers”, while emphasizing that “the energy policy implemented is based on vision that the head of state, Macky Sall, declined in the PSE”.
\u201cThe Sangomar project has a 67% completion rate; the first oil date is scheduled for the end of 2023. The GTA project reached a progress rate of 83% at the end of August 2022; the first gas is planned for the beginning of the year 2024\u201d, he added in a tone of optimism.
