Mauritania ranked third in the list of the five largest oil deals concluded last July, by signing an oil agreement to enhance land and offshore exploration for oil and gas, with the Norwegian company TGS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement, signed by the Mauritanian Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, will allow expanding the scope of available land and sea data throughout Mauritania, in addition to integrating and enhancing data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the deal, the Norwegian company TGS provides advanced data and information to companies operating in the energy sector. The data includes 10 3D subsurface seismic surveys, which were processed in 2022; Resulting in a fully integrated and transported volume of 19 thousand 92 square kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are also 84,000 square kilometers of 3D surveys, from offshore block abandonments, and offshore and onshore wells, in addition to 20,000 square kilometers of onshore 2D seismic data within the Taoudeni Basin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saudi Aramco deal took first place, after the Italian company Saipem awarded contracts to develop two marine projects, with a total investment of about $500 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
