CAO of SNIM: Our reserves amount to about 15 billion tons of iron ore
The Chief Administrator Officer of the National Company for Industry and Mines, SNIM, Mr. Mohamed Vall Ould Al-Talmidy, said that the company has significant reserves of iron ore exceeding 15 billion tons, most of which are of the magnetite type, which is very suitable for the manufacture of iron and steel concentrates and pellets, highlighting that such huge minerals deposits offer to the company great investment opportunities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the Mauritanides Conference and Exhibition, in Nouakchott, the CAO added that the company has maintained a leading position in supporting the national economy, noting that its contributions for last year amounted to 17% of the state budget revenues, 15% of the gross national product and 53% of the export volume.
Finally, the minister pointed out that these exports are directed to the traditional consumer markets in Europe, Asia and Australia, emphasising that SNIM is hard at work, within the framework of its trade policy, to enter new markets in North Africa and the Middle East.
