Kosmos Energy : Inspections conducted to date have not identified any significant damage on the “FPSO” of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project

The American oil and gas supermajor, Kosmos Energy, announced that the technical inspections conducted so far have not identified any significant damage on the floating production, storage and offloading vessel (“FPSO”) for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project (“GTA”), straddling the border between Mauritania and Senegal.

The company explained, in a press release published today, that the technical crews in charge of the vessel are hard at work to ensure the safety of the vessel, pending the completion of repair operations prior to sailaway.

As a reminder, the FPSO had been reported to drift approximately 200 meters off the quayside following the impact of Typhoon Muifa which hit earlier this month the coasts of China.

It is noteworthy that Kosmos had announced, in its second quarter report, that the Great Turtle Ahmeyim Field’s FPSO vessel will reach the field’s area at the end of this year.
